The Edgecombe County Memorial Library homepage.

 

The library is open to the public from 9-6 Mon-Fri.

Curbside service is available from 10-5 Mon-Fri.

We are very pleased to announce that ECML will return to its normal schedule on Tuesday, September 7th.

As of that date, the Tarboro library will be open from 9-9 Monday-Thursday, 9-6 Friday, and 9-5 on Saturdays.

The Pinetops Branch will be open 9-6 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and open from 9-8 on Tuesday and Thursday.

  • Call the library in Tarboro (823-1141) or Pinetops (827-4621) or use our website (www.edgecombelibrary.org) to let us know what books you would like. Please have your library card available when you call.
  • We will let you know when your items have been pulled and are available for pick-up.
  • Call us when you arrive at the library and we will take your items to you in the parking lot. You don’t even need to get to get out of the car!
  • Staff will be taking calls M-F from 9-6. Curbside service is available from 10-5.

  • NCLearn @ Home is a gathering place for NC DNCR online content and educational resources in one place for teachers, students, parents, and anyone needing enriching experiences, regardless of their location.
  • NC LIVE is North Carolina’s statewide library cooperative, supporting 205 public and academic libraries across North Carolina. Several NC LIVE vendors are providing free or additional access to their resources in response to COVID-19.
  • Amazon Audible is offering a free service for kids. Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.
  • BiblioBoard offers a free, Open Access platform no subscription needed! This platform includes an assortment of rich historical and carefully curated multimedia content, as well as high-quality open access journals, textbooks, and other open educational resources.
  • Grow with Google - To slow the spread of COVID-19, many employees, educators, and students are working remotely. To help, Google has gathered some free tools and resources to keep you connected and productive.
  • Coronavirus Tax Relief - The IRS has established a special section focused on steps to help taxpayers, businesses and others affected by the coronavirus. The 2019 income tax filing and payment deadlines for all taxpayers who file and pay their Federal income taxes on April 15, 2020, are automatically extended until July 15, 2020. This relief applies to all individual returns, trusts, and corporations. This relief is automatic, taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call the IRS to qualify.

Library Card

What do I need to do to get a library card? 

Any resident of Edgecombe County and surrounding counties is eligible to receive a library card. The library card may be used at the main library or the Pinetops branch. Individuals 17 and under may receive a card if a parent or legal guardian comes in and obtains the card for them. Individuals 18 and older may obtain one without a parent or guardian. All individuals must show proper identification in order to get a card. The first library card is free. Replacement fees are $5.00 for lost cards. Out of service area residents may receive a library card for a $10.00 annual fee.
